Glory Forms

Pickles

by Catherine Jacobs on 07/23/17

Have you ever been in a pickle? I have. Lately I have been in a lot of pain. So much that I have not been able to make these dolls. I want to but I have been diagnosed with carpel tunnel syndrome and arthritis. Thats why my hands have had shooting burning pains in them. It often brings tears to my eyes. So what about making these dolls. I ask myself should I continue in pain or try to get help?
Well I have tried to get help and so far I am not able to do that.
It's a real Pickle, for me anyway.

So I was in church and the pastors wife does our children's church.  This past week she talked about pickles. Yep you heard it right. Pickles!

They come in lots of varieties, sour, dill, sweet, bread and butter etc.

So anyway, her point was that were are often in a pickle as we go about our days, troubles and stress come all around us and tempt us to give up and stop doing the things we know we should do for the Lord.

We are reminded in Psalms 18:6 KJV
In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears.

So this week my hands feel a little better. The braces I sleep in and work in are starting to help the swelling go down. Please pray the pain will go away.

Remember this: Pickles are under pressure but they are always well preserved.

God will help those who believe in Him, He will preserve you in times of trouble. Read the entire chapter to see how.

Whats your favorite kind of Pickle? Mine is dill. Have a great week! Be sweet if you get into any pickles.

Forgiveness

by Catherine Jacobs on 11/07/15

Have you ever asked forgiveness for something you have done that grieved the Lord?

I have.
With a broken heart I have asked forgiveness for my sins. Sometimes I forget to ask. Sometimes I even forget that I am a sinner. Especially when someone else has wronged me. It is all too easy to say, "Why would you do that to me?"" What did I ever do to deserve that kind of treatment?"

Have you ever been really angry at someone who has done something against you?
I have.

Did you forget like me that we are all humans and none of us are righteous? But what if the sin is something you think is huge and or unforgivable like murder or abortion?

Again did you forget like me that the only sin that is unforgivable is the sin you do not acknowledge and ask for forgiveness of the sin of unbelief? Thinking of that are we not all guilty of unbelief at least to some part?

I know I am guilty of not always believing with all my heart.
I forget everyday when I am dealing with others.

But thanks be to God that He reminds me that I am only human, and I make mistakes and it is only by the Grace of God that I am forgiven. I am not perfect, I am perfectly forgiven by the Blood of my savior Jesus Christ.
That is what Jesus tells us in;

Romans 3:10
as it is written: " None is righteous, no not one;
John 8:7

And as they continued to ask him, he stood up and said to them, “Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her.”

Luke 23:34

Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.

Psalms 86:5

For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee.

So in order to be forgiven for any sin we just need to humble ourselves before the Lord and ask for forgiveness of our sins.  I for one am so thankful to God for HIs forgiveness of my unbelief, my hard heart, my anger at the wrong things, and my lack of effort at times to help others hear the "Good News".

The Good news is that Jesus died on the cross for our sins, was buried and rose again 3 days later from the grave conquering sin. He paid the wages of sin and death and rose from the grave victorious over sin and satan.

Dear Jesus:

Thank you for your sacrifice or your precious blood on the cross to pay the debt of our sins, opening the gates to heaven for all who believe.

Help us Oh Lord, to forgive each other, and learn to work together to spread your gospel all over the earth to every tribe and nation.

I pray for the viewers of this site, that you will convict each one of them of their sins, and enable them for their souls sake, to ask forgiveness from their sins. Create in them a desire and ability to  receive your free gift of salvation through the shedding of your blood on Calvary.

Thank you Jesus, for forgiveness!

Amen.

For His Glory

by Catherine Jacobs on 10/10/15

We are created in the Image of God for His Glory. This is our purpose on earth

As His image bearers, we are proof there is a God. We are living growing proof and reflections of Him in image.

We also need to remember that we are even temples for the Holy Spirit. Our lives do not belong to anyone but God, as He purchased us with His own blood. We do not belong to our Mothers or Fathers or even ourselves.

The way a baby is created inside their mother is a mystery still, even with all of our technology.

Ecclesiastes 5:11 As you do not know the way the spirit comes to the bones in the womb of a woman with child, so you do not know the work of God who makes everything.

The bible tells us that were are the work of God Himself. We are created for good works through Jesus.

Ephesians 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

We are told that we are not our own. We don't own our own bodies or anyone else's. Our bodies belong to the Holy Spirit as a temple for the Holy Spirit to dwell in to Glorify Him. This is our purpose on earth.

1 Corinthians 6:19 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, 20 for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.

Here is another site that answers the same questions with three more scriptures.

The Bible clearly points to conception as the beginning of human life. Samson said, “I have been a Nazirite to God from my mother’s womb” (Judges 16:17). He refers to his unborn self as having already been what God planned him to be—a Nazirite. David says, “You formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb” (Psalm 139:13). Again, we see David referring to himself as a person in the womb. Then, he says, “Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them” (Psalm 139:16). David is saying that God had all of his days planned out for him while he was still in the womb. Again, this evidence points to personhood beginning at conception, rather than at the moment of birth. We see God had a similar plan for the life of the pre-born Jeremiah: “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations” (Jeremiah 1:5).  source http://www.gotquestions.org/is-abortion-murder.html

In the Beginning

by Catherine Jacobs on 10/07/15

So when do you think life starts?

Some people say one thing some say another.
It really does matter, especially if you are a preterm pre-born baby.

I wonder what the Bible says concerning when life starts?
Lets visit a few scriptures to see.

The book of Genesis tells us that we are made in the image of God. We are His image bearers. Each one of us is proof there is a God. We are created to bring Him glory and honor.

Genesis 1:26  Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."

In the third chapter we see that Eve is named by Adam. Her name means she was the mother of all living. We are all her children by our blood lines.

Our DNA can be traced back to Adam and Eve. Our life code and plan in our DNA started with them.

Genesis 3:20 The man called his wife's name Eve, because she was the mother of all living.

Many people today are arguing about when does life start and when does the child in the womb have a spirit. In biblical times there were no ultrasound machines.
Here is a verse that talks about life being in the blood.

Leviticus 17:11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it for you on the altar to make atonement for your souls, for it is the blood that makes atonement by the life.

Scientist tell us that the blood cells start to form at three weeks of life.
The tiny human heart starts to beat at three weeks. As soon as it is formed it starts to beat. Now thats the  miracle of life!
